are struts interchangeable
Just had a 2000 impreza given to me today, but it needs struts. Will any other model interchange? I know this is "the" SVX site (I own 2 92's & a 96) just ask'n a fav. from my fellow bro's. My green 92 is now my parts car & hav'nt looked closely if their similar. Thanks guys!

any legacy strut will bolt in but may have differences in height and strut tops same for impreza but you're better off getting the right ones for the car, i use outback ones in my liberty, up till 98 they're the same as the impreza i'm not sure on the later ones

See if you can find some 2.5RS struts as they have a sportier spring/dampening rate, but any 93-01 Impreza strut will interchange AFAIK, go ask on www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/ I'm sure someone over there has some. I also have a set of good 4WD rear struts (Make sure you get 4WD struts, the bottom mount is slightly different on 2WD models) make me an offer...

I didn't see if it is a wagon or sedan. Go with the type of model it is. I think you should be able to use 2000-2004 struts and springs if I remember right. I got a set of 4 w/o springs for $100 delivered from Nasioc for the racer off a WRX with 10000 miles on 'em. As Hondabikesrock said the RS springs have the highest spring rate (although not by much). I think they're like 160, wrxs are like 155 and standard Imps were 148.

I got KYB AGX struts with H&R springs on my 96 impreza and there great.
You can get a set of AGX for like $400 new and there adjustable.
