A/C Question
Hi folks any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
The A/C system seems to work fine till a load gets put on it in extreme heat only. Heading up the hill where i live in temps over 100F the ac just stops blowing cold I had the system looked over and it was recomended to replace the receiver dryer and the condenser as well as recharge the system with oil and refrigerant? So after doing this at great cost it still does the same thing???????? The system blows cold under all other conditions It just stops blowing cold under a load in heat??????? Thoughts |

Re: A/C Question
Hi Shimmersky, I believe that when you floor it the AC shuts off. If your not flooring it, maybe the switch needs adjustment. Take care, BOBB

Re: A/C Question
Keep in mind that an A/C system extracts heat to the out side. The compressor needs the refrigerant to reach a higher temperature than the outside temperature in order for it to extract the heat (heat travels from hot to cold). If the outside temperature is very high and you are putting a load driving up hill, then the compressor has to work harder than normal and may not reach it's demand.

Re: A/C Question
HI, You have to much freon in the system or a line my be slighty clog. Most likely to much freon. Sound like the head pressure is going over 400 and the pump kicks out.
