Ben,
You have to go to www.scca.com, log in, and then register (I use this url - http://ams.scca.com/netforum/eweb/Dy...LoginRequired). You have to be a current SCCA member to log in and register (I think...). Better hurry, there were 203 people registered as of 8:30pm....
-Bill (now, what makes you think my car isn't legal in ESP?? Am I missing something in the rulebook??)

Then maybe you should've posted it sooner if you wanted competition. Again you are not in ESP and I doubt that you would be put there by the committee so you technically can't race at a national event in that class under Subaru NOC or any other classing that doesn't say ESP Subaru SVX 92-97 in the Solo 2 rule book.

Ben,
Okay, I see your point. I've left 2-3 phone messages with the guy at SCCA HQ regarding getting the SVX classified in ESP, with no luck so far.

Don't think I'll have any issue until I can get the car (and myself!) to the point where I'm within a second of Strano's times (yeah, I know, that just might be a while )

I actually started this thread right after I signed up. Apparently, it was filled by ~10:30pm. Turns out a lot of the true "pros" actually fax in their applications ahead of time.

Guess if I can't get a legal ESP ruling I might just have to drive in FP

-Bill
p.s. driving in FP at FedEx would be instant trophy time, as I don't recall anyone driving in FP (there's only two cars in EP, the only regular being a 510 that I'm consistently 2-3 seconds faster than)

1. You won't be in ESP as you see where they put modified SVXs.
2. You would've needed to have done it last August for this year.
3. I just bought me a SA2000 helmet so you see where I'm moving.

Going to do a little hill climbing?

Hey, are you guys going to bring the Racer down for the cage work, or are you going to try to do it yourself?

No but I think we ran against that one at States last year. Remember, you can't run FP either as you've done Ricer work. Changing your computer takes you out of the running there.

I'm not sure what's going on with the cage at the moment. Its possible that the engine builder may just focus on that this year and not bumping our hp to around 300.

Ben,
I'm trying to find where in the rules it says anything about whether you can "tune" (i.e., tweak the ECU) a prepared car. I can definitely interpret the following to mean that you can:

17.9 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
A. The use of any driver operated electric starter is permitted.
B. The use of any ignition system (except magneto ignition) is permitted,
provided the number of spark plugs remains the same as that
of the standard production engine. If a distributor is removed, a
blanking plate or breather may be fitted in its place.

C. The original generator or alternator may be completely removed
or replaced. Mounting location and drive system for the generator
or alternator is unrestricted.
D. The remaining components of the electrical system are unrestricted.
E. It is recommended that all vehicles be equipped with an electrical
system master cutoff switch.

"any ignition system" doesn't appear to have any limits placed on it

So, can I tell Sean that he doesn't need to worry about welding up a roll cage for the Racer?

-Bill

No you can't. It is interpreted the other way in that since there is no parallel improvement to the non computer system.

At this point yes tell Sean not to worry about it for now.
