A/C and heating not working properly

I am having problems with the temperature control in my car. It seems to work sometimes, when the sunroof is open but it will only work on the auto setting. It will not adjust to the high, medium, or low settings. I am thinking it may be a resistor as the main control seems to switch (all the buttons seem to light up). The blower motor may also be the problem. If anyone has encountered this problem before please let me know what you did to fix it.

Thanks,
Jonesy

It could be the blower motor. Mine is currently out getting the brushes replaced.

Going from medium to high speed you should hear a relay near the motor click.

I can hear everything clicking (relays) but nothing happens. I just find it odd how it works sometimes, but not all the time.

Try my 2 minute fix:

Take the bottom cover off the motor but be careful as there will be a lot of dust in there.

Clean the dust off as best you can and put it back on. This will help the motor spin faster but I don't think this is a lasting solution.

Of course I could take a look at it for you when I'm passing through Calgary in a couple weeks.
