much like the svx my audi cabriolet required high octaine gas (91-94) and ran like it was being abused on anything of a lower grade... ran like a beast on 93. the vw engine is designed to take a lower grade gasoline. though im sure it helps to use permium. the a-4 cabriolet shares platform with a vw passat

the audi tt shares the same platform as a gti, cabrio, and new beetle

i would make an educated guess thatthe audi tt was electronically designed to handle a higher octain fuel with modified manifold, intake and exhaust making the 45 hp difference.

I'll agree to that.. my sis has the 1.8t audi... thing "feels" quick.. but it's really not, and NO power down low.

As far as ecu reflash, first, no offense, but black beast doesn't have a clue what he's selling.

On naturally aspirated cars, ecu tuning provides minimal gains... what ECUtune (Longassname) has done for us is about the limit of naturally aspriated tuning. With turbo'd cars, especially ones with electronically controlled boost, you have a lot more potential with Tuning.

either way, You'd be much better figuring out what you have, and then trying to sell it on ebay or nasioc.
