New member - introduction
My first ever purchase on eBay was my 1992 SVX. It's standard UK spec in liquid silver and came with a measly 63k miles and a full main dealer history.
I used it as the sensible car - you can get four people in it - and have put on less than 3k miles in the last 10 months. A few months back, the gearbox failed and was rebuilt by KSM Automatic Transmissions in Carshalton, Surrey. I now have the car back after shelling out £1760. At least I have a warranty.  I now intend to get the car back into 'excellent' condition. Mechanically, it's very good: no nasty noises, starts, runs and drives very well. Everything works. Except the windscreen washers but I think I can handle that. There is a clunking from the front suspension on rough roads - I think I read somewhere that this was 'normal' wear - what causes this? Worn bushes? I would love to get together with some local SVX people but I don't think I'm going to be able to make the Midlands meet, unfortunately. Anyone in Sussex/Surrey/S. London? Any and all suggestions very welcome.

Glad to see that I am no longer the newest member! I have been trying to organise a meet at the Ace Cafe in Wembley (see the seperate posting). I realise it is a little further than you may wish to travel for an evening but may be worth putting in your diary for the first Tuesday of August... Enjoy the forum (seriously good bunch of guys here).

Welcome to the Network. Glad to see the UK contingent growing by leaps and bounds. The clunking from the front suspension could be the front mounts. They were "upgraded" in '92 (at least in the US spec cars). If you haven't had the upgraded mounts fitted, it may be something to look into. Again, welcome!
