Road Noise

So I've had my STi coilovers in for a couple months now. I love the way the car handles and feels now. It's a completely different car. The only thing I don't like is the road noise, which is due to the absence of rubber in the top mounts. I was thinking, could I just get a thin (1-3mm) piece of heavy duty rubber, drill 3 holes in it and mount it in between the top hat and the chassis? I've been looking on the internet for results and some people have mentioned it. I also read that a thick piece of leather would help and not wear as fast. Any ideas/thoughts on this?

Re: Road Noise

The nuts for the strut mounts may slowly back out due to the rubber being flexible. I'd be very cautious about this idea, it sounds iffy.

Re: Road Noise

The "coil spring isolators" on this page might be worth looking into.

Re: Road Noise

you could just drill a hole in the stud above the nut and put a cotter pin in it.
