No Reverse

My Ex-Wife has 2 SVXs, one wrecked one not.
the one not has suddenly no reverse.
She wants me to swap trannies, before I do that,
is there any electronics to check for no reverse?
The linkage seem to be operating properly.

Re: No Reverse

How do you feel about the tranny in the wrecked one? Are you a do it yourself person?
This happened to me, many years back, and I immediately took it into a local transmission shop that contracts with the local Subaru dealer for repairs/rebuilds. It turned out a $1,200 rebuild took care of it because more damage wasn't done. That was 30K miles ago. Just one person's experience and maybe the lazy man's solution.

Re: No Reverse

I am just wondering why you would even consider swapping a trans for your EX-Wife.

Hey, we have a customer that pays for all the service and picks up his ex-wife's car from 2 hours away to bring it in for service...

That being said, if you know the history on the other transmission and trust it for a good time, go ahead with it. Even moreso if you can do the work yourself.

He must be one of the lucky ones that didn't get burned down in the divorce settlement.

On the other hand I applaud him for working to keep another SVX on the road.

Re: No Reverse

I agree on that. I know that I don't have that kind of relationship with my EX.
