**** I just realized I left the dust cover for the fork somewhere in the engine bay..
Ok, well you can just pull the shaft and remove the dust cup on it and all will be well

The dust cup on the shaft? You think that's what's making it tight? I suppose I can try trimming at it.

Yes, the shaft has another inch before it bottoms out... The dust cup on the shaft rubs the case... Don't trim it... cut it off by cutting through to two spot welds on the side

How deep are these welds man I feel like I blasted through them a long time ago but the cup is still attached. It looked like I have to go all the way around anyways.

Nevermind, taking it off had no effect. It's just too long.

Debating whether to leave it as is, spend 3 hours grinding away at the base of the yoke, or pay money to have someone mess with it. I'm so very tired.

I had the shaft shortened one inch. Cost me $140. Ugh...

I put everything on today. With the exhaust pipes on I can hear a clicking sound. I didn't drive it too much because I apparently didn't tighten the pipes to the ex mans enough and it leaked what appears to be smoke, or maybe it's just oil or lubricant burning off. I dunno. Didn't sound like an exhaust leak.

The click is a bit worrying..
I wonder if trying to drive away with a floor jack still supporting the engine had anything to do with that..
