Replacing Rear Knuckle

I will be replacing the left rear knuckle due to a broken connection point for one of the stabilizer linkages. The car is a '94 lsi with 24,000 miles.

Is there anything else that I should be replacing while I am working on this? I was thinking of a new wheel bearing, but now sure what else.

Is there anything I should be careful of while replacing this?

I am not a mechanic, but have done lots of my own work. This will be my first knuckle replacement.

Thanks,
Paul

The transverse link bolt is the long one that connects the knuckle to the two links.

It can be tough to get out, it can rust and not want to slide out, depending where you live, yo may want to start soaking it well ahead of time with PB Blaster.

Also, when you put it back together, do not use an impact and do not over torque it. If you do, it will get distorted and eat bearings for the rest of it's life.

I second that comment on the link bolt.

Be sure to disconnect the abs sensor from under the seat instead of trying to get it out from the hub. After the hub is off you can then work on removing it without damaging it. They are expensive.

Since I'm about to do the bearings in my car, what's the torque spec for the transverse link bolt?
