Looks very nice than stock silver. I would like to see how the paint holds on long run.

I like that silver. I drive a silver and am kind of "blah" about it.. if I were to go through the troubles of painting my car it would be some kind colorful color though.

I had my first car painted at Earl Scheib for $80... I think it was about 1985. Aside from MOSTLY masking it (they got overspray on my windshield and my mirror glass) there was virtually NO prep involved. I'm not sure they even washed it! I had previously stuck some paper stickers on the hatch lid of which some residue remained, and they painted right over it! Still I think the paint outlasted the car, which was old and had one foot in the grave anyway. I had other cars painted at Scheib later on, but I always prepped them myself first. A buddy of mine that owned a body shop told me the guys at Scheib generally are as skilled as painters anywhere else, it's just a matter of the preparation. Add to that the quality of materials.

My luck with MAACO hasn't been real great either. I've had three cars painted there over the years and twice they screwed up the hood and had to repaint it after I pointed out the flaws-- thin, streaky paint on the first one, and a spot behind the windshield washer nozzle that was missed entirely on the second one. I'm sure quality varies from one MAACO shop to another, though. I keep going back to this one for some reason.

That's probably also one of the best looking colorchange paintjobs I've seen.

Just curious how this is holding up 8 months later - considering Maaco once my prep work is done.
