Best Wishes from Southern California
To All,
Plans were to have been on the road days ago. But unfortunatly alot has happened in the last year. I no longer own Beauty nor do I know where she is. I really do miss her. Finance issue this year also prevent me from making the trip. My one and only mini meet was stopping a nice guy on the street and handing him a SVX Network Card. I wish each and every one of you the very best. Good luck on your journies. Be safe and sane. Take breaks along the way and switch drivers often. My buddy and I were going to make the trip None stop from LA. Tow the svx and use the excursion to pull it. Beuaty would not have been happy to drive that far. Sleep in the excursion on the way and switch driving. There were plans to get huge stickers on the sides of the SVX. Be safe and I very much look forward to see the pics and videos. Please be sure to post the galley link and the times when the media will run it on the news. Good luck my friends and God speed you on your way. Ciao Wayne |

Hi!
Wayne
Haven't seen you around for a while. I echo your sentiment about all our friends on the road. Hope all will be careful out there, not too many of us good guys left. Ciao Joe

Close Ties
Guys and Gals,
I guess I hang out here and still read what's going on is because there has only been one other time in my life where I felt part of something. To belong to a group of people. You guessed it. The Corps. Useless trivia time: At any given time there are approzimately 1,250,000 Soilders in the Army. At any given time there are approximatly 950,000 Sailers in the Navy At any given time there are approximatly 600,000 Airmen in the Air Force. And At any given time there are only 100,000 Marine. Truely a band of brother and sisters of course. So when I found this place it truly ment alot to me. I thank each and every one of that I have talked to. To each of you that have helped me I Thank you. And to the creators: Look what you have done. You truely have made something special. We now have people from all around the globe. WOW. Rockin.............. Have a wonderful time friends. Drink a few the Marine..... Ciao PS. If each of you drink one for me that just might be enough. hehehehehe. |

Joe, I've got an ice cold Guinness in the fridge. A straggler from a six pack I bought, pre-diet. I may have to break my diet tonight, just to toast my Irish friends. I just LOVE beer you can chew!

Pre-diet??
Quote:
You chew on a Guinness, I'll suck on a Kentucky bourbon, that'll fill the weekend. And is Colin a distributor for Millers?? These Brits are everywhere! Joe

Colin is fond of the "High Life" but, gladly gave it up at the Rockford meet when I happened to notice that the restaurant, were we were dining, served Tetley's. I've yet to figure out why Brits put ping pong balls (which, on the label was called a "curious widget") in their beer, though.

In the absence of real beer (as Randy says, Tetley's, Bass, etc) I'll opt for Miller products anytime.

Bass drum
OK Colin
Our own Taoiseach Bertie has a fondness for de Bass. Millers would compare to British beer I guess. Joe

It's drinkable and the best of a mediocre bunch of brews, so thats what I choose if British (or European) beer is not available. Actually, Miller was just purchased by South African Breweries (SAB) who are actually HQ'd in London I think. So technically Miller is a British beer now

Noxious brew
Actually I was being facetious Colin. I think most English and Irish beers tend to suffer from a lack of alcohol, flavour and imagination. All very samey. All 4.2 alcohol or less for the PC brigade.
When I was in a beer club years ago, got some real nice US beers, Anchor Steam Beer being one of them, from Boston, I think. When not in a pub drinking the anodyne tripe they have on tap, I tend to go for German or Belgian beers, they have more heart. Millers is a tad lite for me, but I do like Bud very much, it's light but well made. Joe
