Yeah, I think its a waste too, but page 1-3 of the owner's manual states you can't use fuel with more than 10% ethanol or 5% methanol in it. Just one to watch.

I'm currently paying 85 pence a litre for Super Unleaded, which is £3.86 a gallon or approx $4.37 a gallon.

However, I have just realised your US gallon is smaller than the Imperial gallon, this would be about $3.64 in your terms. And it's rising.

Okay, I'm feeling much better about prices here in good ol' KY. I filled up with 93 Octane this afternoon for 1.74.9 per gallon (Where in the hell do they come up with the "point nine" why don't they just call it 1.75 and have done with it?)

As for the economists in the group, I "supplemented" my meager radio salary with a stint at my Uncle's service station after I graduated High School. Started on July 5th 1973. Price per Gallon of Premium was 0.29.9 (and that was a CHEVRON station, eddycat). I used to fill up my '64 Ford Fairlane with "the good stuff" 'til it went up to 0.39.9 -- that ten cents more on the gallon just killed me.

Unhappy I'm still wonderin' . . .

. . . why the 'unleaded' tag is still there. I haven't been able to buy leaded gas for decades now. And doesn't unleaded at least imply that they're taking lead out? First they'd have to put it in.

Exxon/Mobil is crying, "We can't do a thing about it!", and making a killing!

Grrrrrr

Fuel-ish prices

If it keeps going this way, I may need to go back and give that Honda Insight another look!
Maybe the Japanese automakers will bring over some of their micro-cars: 1 liter twincam, intercooled, turbo skateboards.
Personally, I wish we could switch to hydrogen; that would be a gas!

Well, stopped for gas this morning - $1.99 9/10 (Aredub's right, just say $2.00 and be done with it) for 93 at Chevron. And that's not the highest station in the area. And it's only May 4.

Can you say $3.00?
