Need help with Sunroof
I have had problems closing my sunroof. It would not close all the way. I managed to use the clutch nut to close it, and have not messed with it in some time. I am so depressed about the bombing, I figured I would give it a shot. What the heck. Now it will open and go to shut, when it stops just short, leaving the rear extended up. It won't go all the way down and seal. I don't really want to keep allen wrenching it closed, as I dont think this is good for the guides. Any suggestions? I have tried silicon spray lubricant.
BTW. My condolances to any members having relatives that were in the bombing. Thanks in Advance Chuck

I'm sure maybe you tried this already, but have you looked for anything trapped inside the rails and such? Leaves, sticks, etc.. that could be compressed enough by using the wrench, but not by the motor?
Or maybe there is something bent in there? I've never looked too closely at how it works, but if you can wrench it closed, it must be a relatively minor problem (hopefully) I need to tighten my clutch up a little as mine doesn't open too easily. It needs a little bump to get it started, then it works ok...

HMMMMMM
Yes I have looked for obstructions. There don't seem to be any. Something is wrong with the lock down mechanism I think. ????? Thanks for responding. Took pics of the hood tonight. I can't download them on my computer though. I will make arrangements soon.

Chuck, I've had this problem, on and off, since I've had the car. I wound up having to completely clean all the old lubricant out of the tracks, and start over. Still, for a while, I'd have to poke my hands out the back of the roof, hook my fingers around, and push it forward (the right side was trailing the left -- it took a while to straiten out) -- then, push the button to finish closing it. Now it closes fine. I still have to give it a "bump" to open, unless I'm at speed (about 60 mph). I just probably need to do a little silicone around the gasket.

Got it to work
I relubed everything. It will open with a little bump. The best thing is that it will close by itself. I had to force crank in shut a few times, but now it does it by itself. Thanks for the help guys. Hey check out the new group buy.
