What fuel system mods

What boost level
and Any other mods needed

First step

Is to get a new engine. I know that Paeco does that, and some company that starts with an R (I think?) Paeco's stage II is reated at 306bhp...after that, basics like a header, downpipe, cat, exhaust, cold air intake, and *maybe* a turbo. I figure you could twin turbo the SVX and mount an intercooler if you got the CF hood (since it has the scoop, there may be room for the intercooler) - But it would be better to ask some of the more knowledgable guys

I know JCS is developing a Super charger for an svx and no hood mods would have to be done. Contact them for more details, if you need the number then check out "Mods Update" thread.

Just because

Paeco only builds NA's, it doesn't mean you can't drop a turbo on it after the fact

It's funny I was talking to my friend yesterday about this actually. We were figuring any 500hp SVX would definately grace the front page of SCC.

On a second note, why stop at twin turbo. Why not go all the way and for quad turbo's. However do the dual stage turbo setup. A small T2 turbo to provide low rpm boost, and switch to a T4+ on the higher rpms to gain the HUGE power.

I figure, new cam, crank, rods, pistons, oversized valves, upped injectors, bigger fuel pump, a complete replacement of the current ignition system, intake, and exhaust, will more than get you there.

But you still have to remember we are talking more than double the current hp....that is quite the leap.

Who needs

a Lamborghini which only gets 12mpg when you can have a 600bhp SVX with 24mpg?

Has anyone ever thought of using 2.5 rods and pistons and having a custom crank made to give the H-6 3.8 liters of displacement. A large single turbo will give the most power. Maybe some bigger cams stiffer valve springs 7500-8000 RPm redline. 8.0-1 or 8.5-1 compression ratio 15-20psi of boost large intercooler. Tec II engine management.

One large turbo is good, but creates that much more lag. It depends what you want...raw power or off the line tear it up. A big turbo won't spool up until 4000+ rpm's...but like you said would make the most power. I personally like the twin turbo idea. Keep the compression down to 8.5:1 and run 18psi to a 3 cyl bank....now you are talking some big power.

I don't know about you, but if I had a 600 HP SVX, I don't think I would be able to drive it in such a way as to still get 24mpg.

Too bad I don't still have Peepee's e-mail adress. I could ask him what his 980 hp SVX gets for mileage.

Where've you been hiding out Suby_qa? Say howdy to Pat for me too!

I have been real busy as of late. I will tell Pat you said howdy. So, did Pepe ever show the proof he promised?

I think Pepe got so scared that he must've pepe'd in his pants.

But I think he re-incarnated into this club as "SVX Master Tech", and after his first post, which smelled like a rat, I privately notified Aredub, and he notified Chris.

Whether he disappeared on his own, or had help disappearing from this club courtesy of Chris, I'm not sure.

I spoke with Paeco

The rebuild they do is pretty standard strenthening porting etc. too much to mention here. Very solid base though. They sound very good. When I questioned their fuel delivery they told me they use carborators. UGGGGG. Anyway that is no big deal. You can rebuild the engine with nismo fuel injectors which will support up to 500 HP (555 cc/min). Lower the compression to 8.5:1. New fuel pump and line modifications to support more fuel. I would go with a much larger oversized fuel pump in order to cool the rail. Kevin you need to call me sometime. PM me with your number and we can talk some mods.
