Good day for mods yesterday

Lest ye all think I'm too much of a stock boy, I decided to implement some long-owned mods in anticipation of next Sunday's Detroit SCCA Season Opener AutoX. As there is some measure of showing-off at these, I installed the following:
-Koni/GC coliover set-up with gunmetal powder-coated strut bodies
-New strut mounts for al four corners
-15 minute mod (my Reading raffle selection-Thanks Tom!)
-Stebro muffler
-Clear corners

I tried to install a Prodrive steering rack bushing upgrade, but unfortunately, the busings for a WRX do not interchange and will be returned.

Still to be installed this week:
-Porterfield brake pads on freshly cut rotors
-New front sway bar end-links

Soon to be installed (aka, not purchased yet):
-SS brake lines
-Sway bar bushings
-Full Sparco 6 point harness set and upgraded throne...Recaro, Sparco Evo XL (for the, ahem, husky racer )???

I also have to complete the 60K service and will add a Perrin lightened crank pulley I got cheap and finally mount my Hella horns when the compartment is clear.

With this, I'll still be at the bottom of the STX pile here in Detroit, but should make a better showing than I have in the past (fingers crossed).

Todd

Good luck with all that.

Upgraded from a company called PowerGrid, Dave. They use a high-quality end-link design that is used in industry from company named THK. PowerGrid is local to me and I hope to have them in my hands this Thursday. I hope that the new endlinks and the new strut mounts (with 2mm spacer in top of strut rod) cure my front end rattle.

Removing and replacing the Koni/stock spring assembly with the Koni/GC assembly wasn't a bad job. Forgetting the ground clearance of the SVX with the Koni/GC keit when set at it's lowest setting made getting the jack out from under the car when off the jackstands...interesting

Based on your current upgrade, I take it that dual adjustable Koni shocks are now a lost cause. Congratulations on all your mods and good luck in the AutoX. Sorry I missed you (and eveyrone else) at Reading this year. I"ll post some pics from Kazakhstan in a couple of days.

Hello Dan,
Sorry I missed you as well. Thanks for the positive thoughts. I was looking forward to talking to you again . How was Dubai?

Actually, they are not dead and in fact I spoke to Bill's friend Gordon at Koni about converting D/A inserts for use with our car and now have a solution for trapping them in to the body of the strut. I showed it to Tom the Younger at Reading. I'll post a pic in this thread or revive the old Koni thread and place it in that. The S/A units I installed have been built for a couple of years now and I just got around to installing them

Todd,
!##&! Now I'm really ticked I missed Reading I'm very interested to hear what Gordon had to say and what model # D/A you think will work.
