Re: Phenolic Intake Manifold and TB spacers for the SVX/EG33 coming soon

So..spacers, and EGR delete plates I have to make?

What is the group thought on the TB spacer as part of this package?
Yay or nay?

I will figure out pricing this week.

If I don't get at least 10 takers it may not happen, so spread the word! I think we are close already..

Thanks guys.

No on the EGR delete, maybe on the TB, definite yes on the phenolic spacer. What kind of price are we looking at for the package of the TB and phenolic spacers as suppose to just the phenolic spacer?
Thats just me though.

Yes on the TB spacer!

EGR delete maybe. Stretching out the EGR Tube can't be that complicated

Re: Phenolic Intake Manifold and TB spacers for the SVX/EG33 coming soon

Ok..here is my pricing proposal for 8mm thick phenolic spacers:

Option 1:
Intake manifold spacers only, one set= two pieces, with a set of 14 extended bolts, the price will be $99 shipped.

Option 2:
Set of two intake spacers, plus throttle body spacer, plus 14 extended bolts for intake and 6 for the throttle body. $125 shipped.

Option 3:
Throttle body spacer only plus 6 extended bolts $35

At this point, I do not want to get in the gasket selling business, so I will find the PNs and point you at a few sources, or you can use your favorite sources.

As to the EGR - One option is to cut the tube and use a compression union fitting to reconnect the two halves, assuming there is enough of a straight section to do this. The other option is a set of block off plates, one at the intake manifold and one at the exhaust, which may not be permitted in your city/state, check before deciding. I have also seen other manufacturers saying that you can just put a piece of rubber tubing to reconnect the tubes, or you can stretch the tubing as described by Svxfiles.

The cost for either of these solutions should be about $15, but I want to get a set of spacers made up and experiment on my car to see what is best.

In order to move things along a little quicker, I will give a $10 discount on the first 6 prepaid orders of option 1 or 2.

As soon as I have at least 4 prepaid orders I will order the materials, expensive special milling cutting tools, bolts, make some fixtures, etc.... and get to making that nasty dust

Paypal address is paypal@x35design.com Please include your forum name so I can keep track of y'all.

PS When I say $xx shipped, that means in the USA. For shipping to Canada, please add $8 to the prices. I will do export orders, but please contact me with your location so I can figure out shipping costs.

Who's first?

Re: Phenolic Intake Manifold and TB spacers for the SVX/EG33 coming soon

Just for the record, My 1992 Claret has had an EGR bock off plate for YEARS with out an check engine light. I did this not because of the 8mm bottom phenolic spacer but because I installed/built headers.
Since I am not in a check your tailpipe state this has not been an issue with me.
More on this later...

Re: Phenolic Intake Manifold and TB spacers for the SVX/EG33 coming soon

When I installed my phenolic spacers from Outlaw Engineering, I was able to bend my EGR pipe to fit since the pipe is a "Z" shape from the factory anyways.

Also, if you still have coolant lines running to your TB, you MUST use a phenolic throttle spacer in conjunction with the intake spacers or else the intake spacers will be useless as your intake manifold will reach engine temp from the coolant flow through the throttle body.
Ask me how I know this

#1 is the actual Valve assembly EGR control.
#2 is the plate complete EGR valve.
#4 is the EGR tube that has to be stretched.

As to #8 that is the Valve Assembly Solenoid

Thanks to those who have ordered.

Still need one more though...

3 more early discount sets available.

I'm going to take my car apart this weekend, so I hope that other order comes in from one of you so we can get moving.

Re: Phenolic Intake Manifold and TB spacers for the SVX/EG33 coming soon

Can anyone suggest other maintenance that will be worth doing at the same time. If the existing gaskets stick and the manifold has to be fully removed things like PCV valve, IRIS o-ring installation, small hose upgrade to viton material etc. Worth while? Anymore suggestions?

I would check out your knock sensors. Might be cheap insurance to do them anyways.
