Interchangable radios?

Are there any other Subaru radios that will fit in our cars? I'm looking for the radio/cd/cassette unit. Anyone have one for sale?

Re: Interchangable radios?

All of them basically..you just have to get a harness adapter.

/hijack/
I've seen one user that hooked an iPod interface and Forester subwoofer into his factory deck. Is there a how-to for this job somewhere that I can't find?

Re: Interchangable radios?

I have an ipod hook up and spare tire subwoofer in my trunk. This can only be accomplished by removing the CD player's usability (or if you just don't have one like me).

I've got the factory radio & CD player out of a 96 if you want it.

Do you have a write-up on how you did it? I'd much rather integrate a 3.5mm jack or bluetooth receiver than have a CD player...

Re: Interchangable radios?

I replaced the factory head unit with a Pioneer AVIC unit. Now I can attach a iPod or USB flash drive (via a USB extension cable I ran to the ashtray in the center console) or just insert a cd. Personally, I enjoy being able to use a 16GB flash drive (it's only the size of most bluetooth mouse receivers) & go for weeks with a wide variety of tunes. Another bonus is the hands-free bluetooth feature. They've even come down a little in price too.

Any idea where I can get the pinout for the DIN plug going into the stereo? Also, generally speaking, is this how you wired up the connector?
