Headlight Covers

As an accessory Subaru offered clear covers for the headlights to protect them from stone chips.

I was wondering if anyone had a set and if they could be modified to act as a sun shield to keep the lenses from yellowing. They would obviously have to be removed when using the car.

Re: Headlight Covers

The first question involves whether anyone has a set of these besides Mr. Hoffman?

Re: Headlight Covers

The best way to stop yellowing is to put UV protective paint on them after they've been cleared. You might be able to get some UV covers, but I don't know how that would work (it seems it would be tedious)

Mr Hoffman found the last two sets in existence. Photos HERE

The other won was brought by Chris Gooderham "CDG", who bought my original pearlie. That car is now owned by "Jazz" on the network. I am not sure if CDG still has them or gave them to Jazz along with the car. Picture is his locker HERE

I also believe that Dayle at motorsportwarehouse has a set as well. His have fine horizontal black lines running through them, which could be buffed off.

They had a Subaru Canada part number SCI700204

Re: Headlight Covers

Can we revisit the possibility again of remanufacturing these covers?
I know it was tackled before and the results were not good, is it possible to try again?
