lol, Dunno if the mispell was intentional or not, but funny none the less.

I guess if september 8th is a good date, and IBSP is a good place, then 94subysvx, you might want to update your first post

Now we just need more people to go!! Also, who's gonna bring a grill? We shouldn't need more than 2 if it'll just be about 10-15ppl.

Hey everyone, I called the park and the lady said I have to speak to the person in charge. Figures he is not in today! She took my # and said he will call me tomorrow. I will call tomorrow on my lunch break anyways. She liked the idea so will see what happens. We might want to have a back up plan incase its a no! Im sure we can park there but cooking will be the thing. Dont know about you guys but I want to cook! You just never know when your dealing with the state!!! Mabe if we chose a park more inland where there might be less restrictions, just a thought. Well I will let everyone know tomorrow!

...It's really not imperitive to mention it's a car club meet of some sort. There was a huuuuge 70+ car meet nasioc hosted there a while ago...there wasnt any mention to the park that it was going to happen. And they didnt mind either...at 5.00$ a head to get in...

..Quoted directly from their thingy
Quote:
Although tables and grills are not available in the park, visitors may enjoy picnicking on the ocean beach. Grills may be used on the beach south of the designated bathing area. Fires must be at least 50 feet east of the dunes, and picnickers are required to extinguish their fires before leaving the area. Island Beach State Park requires visitors to "Carry In/Carry Out" their garbage.
...Heads up..there's 10 miles of beach. ONE mile is a designated bathing area, and it's somewhere in the middle of the stretchIm guessing then, that if we parked in one of the lots, and went down beach to grill, that'd be super cool. Arrive in one lot, shoot the breeze for a while, then all walk down the beach to make some hotdogs and burgers. WHY on earth would you want to move the meet inland when we can GRILL ON THE BEACH!?!!?

That down there staightaway is INSANE. Probably will just pay for the 3-day beach pass, let the air out the tires, and cruise the beach

Ah. Well, allow me to give you some simple directions:

There we go. Now everyone within the North and Central Americian continent can make it here. No excuses from Greenland, either!

On a more serious note. Just mapquest "Island Beach State Park" in "NJ" and it'll prettymuch get you there. what it doesnt mention is the road in the park itself...which come on now, that's pretty self explanitory.
Im trying to find out exactly WHERE the "Designated swiming beach" ends, so I can figure out which parking lot is best. The two main lots are HUUUGE. Like, the little square extensions are almost as big as the corner we reserve ourselves at Reading. They are prety nice though..Very secluded, and the northern one has a very photogenic beach dune / road in the corner. I think the southernmost extension lot would be the best place to park and chill, then hike down the beach to grill
