Fluids Q

I did a search but did not find much information on this. What fluids are recommended for the SVX? I just bought mine and I plan on replacing pretty much all the fluids with synthitics, especially the motor oil, trans fluid, and diffs.

Be careful on the Power steering Fluid. Its Dextron 3 ATF, Not PS fluid. I made that error

I recommend using the ATE Super Blue brake fluid if you plan on changing that

It doesn't hurt to replace the brake fluid if you don't know when it was done last.

I'm not sure if it will damage anything with just a little PS fluid added or not. One thing I did to prevent this from happening was putting a label that said "ATF ONLY" over the cap.

Maybe its time to break out the ol' turkey baster and get your fluid out

Factory spec is for Dexron ATF, but "power steering fluid" isn't going to hurt anything unless the bottle is specifically marked NOT FOR USE IN SUBARUS, and I doubt there's anything on the market with such a caution.

That is why I do all of the fluid changes and maintenance work on mine unless it is a more complicated issue.
