Music help requested...

Can anyone tell me the artist/title of a song would be a good representation of growing/aging?

What I plan to do is build a photo montage of my son's first year and a half of life, and for the life of me I cannot think of music that would go with it.

Already suggested:

Tim McGraw - My Next 30 Years
Green Day - Time of Your Life
Dido - Thank You

Bob Seger is big on aging songs, but usually done metaphorically. Usually not that "happy" about it though.

Night moves is a classic for aging. (Felt the lightening...(as he grabs his chest).... then waited on the thunder.) Yep... not that happy when you really start interpreting the lyrics.

I think he has 5 or 6 more on the same subject.

But I guess you are wanting happy songs.

A pretty old song from about 1959 is a song called Three Bells.[or The Three Bells?]

It was very popular and has a lovely melody and chorus.

Now it covers the three stages of man's or woman's existence, i.e. Birth, Marriage and Death, hence the Three Bells [geddit?], but is is a really nice song.

Nas - Life's a ***** (and then you die) ?

haha. Seriously though, you could go with something classical like Canon in D, or find a song you like and use the instrumental. I like slideshow songs without lyrics.

Don't miss "Cat's in the Cradle", by Harry Chapin.
Stunningly sad, but oftimes "just the way it goes".

Ron.

All great ideas, keep them coming.

Anyone have a good source for instrumentals? That sounds like a great idea.

The name of the group that sang The Three Bells was the Browns.
