2007 Limited Edition STi its here !

No, its not mine, but my brother bought one
He ordered it a few months ago
one of 500 built
his is #136
WOW its a bad ass car....OMG
its not mine, but at least I get to drive it once in
a while, ...well sorta.
His plan is to take off the wheels and tires and store
them, put on another set of "play" wheels
and try to keep the miles REAL low so when the time
comes to sell it 10 or 20 yrs it will hold its value
better
He already said its going to be hard NOT to drive it.

That's a sweet ride! I also agree it should be driven, but he can do whatever he wants Is that the same as the S204? What's special about it? I just got my '06 STi and I've already got STi envy

its a Subaru, not a vintage Ferrari. its no collectors item - a low mileage, excellent condition specimen will fetch a few bucks more than an average one, but that's about it.

see the "only 500 made" 2006 Legacy Spec B's for a comparison. not exactly a huge investment. those even had Spec B - specific parts. the STi Limited is just a regular STi without the racy styling bits.

I doubt that it will be a collectable car even if it is only 1 of 500. Who knows though.

a beg to differ

people would of never thought a 70 Superbird
or 73 Pantera would ever be a collector car
Gessh, the dealers couldnt even get rid of them off
the showrooms because they where so radically
different and the gas prices hit so high....
Now look at them, muscle cars represent an era from
their day,.....the 80s had their muscle cars:
ie the return of the Mustang GT and the Buick GN
Have you looked at their prices lately... ? Low mileage
GNs (and even Deloreans !!) are selling for double if
not triple for their orginal sticker price. And those are
cars from the 80s, a 70s muscle car you cant even
touch ( Ie Boss mustang, cuda, etc......)
Hes got the right idea, and in 20 yrs and its a solid
investment. Theres no doubt he will "drive it" but only
a few humdred miles a yr.
He has 10 other cars he can drive, all as just as fast
that he can have lots of fun it too.

Talladega

I just wish I still had my 1969 Ford Talladega (Fords answer to the Superbird and Dodge Daytona). It would definitely be worth much more than what I paid for it. You are right that dealers were not turning these cars over very fast. The sticker price on my Talladega was $3600 and I bought it new for $3300.

They came with cloth bench seats, shift on the column and no air conditioning. But man---the thing could run. The difference in cars then were that essentially the same cars were sold at the dealers in limited quantities as were on the race track. Required 500 production models to qualify for racing. Now the NASCAR race cars have little if anything in common with the product names they use.

and have you seen what a 69 Talladaga is going for
these days ? $20k + easily in good condition.
You couldnt touch that bb 428 cj motor.
Believe it or not there was a guy in town a few yrs ago
who had 2 talladagas with Consecutive serial #s !!
both az cars, really cool....sold both for a grip a few
yrs ago, unrestored.

Is it just me, Or does that air filter lid on the STi look like ours? Just the MAF is facing the front of the car instead of the back.
