Any way, congrats on the new car! You do need to take it easy though. break in all the components correct. Including the clutch!!! You do still need to break em in like 500 miles.

I'm learning...this is my first manual car. I'm slowly catching on and slowly getting used to it. I'm not going crazy or anything...just trying to grab first smoothly and stuff like that. I don't stall or anything like that...or hold the car using the clutch on a hill or anything like that. Just slowly learning along the way

Hi NOOB, Don't manual transmission Subarus have "Hill Holder". The last manual I had,a Loyale, had that feature. Enjoy and take care, BOBB

Subaru got rid of that user friendly feature when they came out with the 2.5

Thanks

Hi Files, Thanks for the answer. That was a handy feature if you lived in an area with lots of hills. Take care, BOBB

not true. some, if not all, newer forester models with manual transmissions have hill holder technology. i test drove a 2005 2.5xt about two years ago with hill holder and i did nopt like it at all. it engaged at the slightest incline and i killed it because the clutch released totally different than under normal operation. the next car i test drove was the legacy 2.5gt limited 5eat and ended up driving it home.

I just spoke to a buddy who still works for Subaru, and they brought back the hill holder on the Forester only in 2003.
I had stopped working foe Subaru in 2002.
