Her First Big Run
So I'm driving the SVX to Carbondale IL, to college, from Chicago. I just had the oil changed along with a new pan gasket. Because this is gonna be a 333 mile trip, almost non-stop, and at a considerable speed, I wanted to know what fluids I should change because they probably wont be changed until I come back up to Chicago on a break or something. I was thinking trans fuild(maybe a flush?), brake fluid, any diff fluids?? I am leaving on the 17th and would like to get it all done very soon.
One more thing, I went to the dealership to get my key fobs reprogramed so my key-less entry would work. The guy went throught the procedure, and told me that it wasnt letting him reset it. I have the ecu-tune stage 1 installed. could that be anything? He said it could be a fuse, or something much worse. any advice appreciated!! Dean |

Top off fluids
As long as your fluids have been changed as recommended, you should only need to top off the brake, power steering, battery, etc. That said, when you change fluids esp. trans and engine oil - get the best quality you can. I use Mobil One Syn. for all. Get something which can take high temp. without breaking down.
333 miles from Chicago to SIU at freeway speeds is nothing to the SVX. That is what this car was built to do. Enjoy the trip and watch out when passing... the SVX will go from 75 to 110 before you realize it. (Don't ask how I know. ) Seriously, take it easy on the freeway too much speed and your speed difference is too great. One slower driver pulling out to pass an even slower car can ruin your whole day! Better to go close to the flow and enjoy the ride. Tom

And dont forget, that when travelling at highway speeds in the SVX, when you let off the gas... it WILL accellerate before it slows down.

Secondly, check the fuse. Lastly, it could be the Security Module. Let's hope not, it's a pain to get to in the '92.

The 2,3/4" hoses are often impropperly installed, allowing unmetered air to enter. That gives a very lean condition while cruising, that would go away when the throtthe shuts. Just a thought.

Or an out of adjustment TPS could do that...
