Even though the flag is flown upside down, It should be HIGHER than ANY OTHER flag in it's horizon!! I WELCOME any LEGAL immigrant, but feel threatened by anyone that choses to IGNORE our immigration laws, and 'sneak' across the boarders!!! This country has benifited greatly from the 'immigrants', and I hope they never quit coming, BUT I just want them to come the way they USED to come!!! I want to KNOW if they are criminals!! If they have AIDS, If they were selling DRUGS where they came from!!!!! ETC, ETC!!!! Is that too much to ASK???????????/ Jerry ( decendant of Irish immigrants, that came past the 'Statue of Liberty" and Ellis Island))

I have been Blessed, and Cursed with 2 dogs.....One is a male, Pomeranion-chiuaua, the other is a peeek-a-ranion, female. The battle never ends!!! SHE tries to eat everything in sight, and HE tries to 'savor' every bite. She hit a plate of spaghetti like a shark, when the daughter was done, ( and he was not offered first bite), and Molly ate every bite!!! So, He, Walked to Mollys plate, and dropped a load of 'Louie-pee' on her plate, and turned his back to anyone involved... I gleaned from this, even though Louie couldn't speak, that he was not happy that he was not offered a piece of the 'action', and EXPRESSED himself, even though he was a "dumb animal"""""" Apply as needed, to get you through life......... Jerry

While I can't say that the sight makes me ill, or even angry, since it's not my flag, I still understand why it would incense others, such as yourselves.
The protesters are not making a smart move here at all. It is, as has already been pointed out, disrespectful, and that never makes any friends. It's also perhaps, indicative of their true intent. They have no respect for the country they're moving to, no desire to be a part of it, aside from financially. If it's the United States of Mexico they want, perhaps they'd be better off staing in Mexico and fighting for positive change there, since they seem to prefer Mexico and their Mexican identity. A lot of European countries have had to deal with issues like this in the past. A lot of immigration from the former Soviet states and the middle east, putting vast strain on the infrastructure of the countries, but perhaps, more importantly, the cultural identity of the host nation. Some countires, like Holland, have put in place legislation requiring immigrants to demonstrate integration when they immigrate. This means adopting the culture of their new chosen country. I don't think this is entirely unreasonable. You can still maintain your cultural roots without blowing off the traditions of where you now live. The Scandinavian countries face this problem in a big way (it threatens their way of life), as does Canada (though here it's not really addressed )
