Code 37

My check engine light flashed for a second when i was driving earlier. Finally had time to check to see what code it was. Its 37 (O2 sensor 2 (LH))

Okay heres the newb question,
Where is that sensor located? I'm guessing there are cats before the pipes join? If so which one is LH? Passenger or driver? Im guessing driver (am i right?)

Also, would a bad O2 sensor effect starts at all? I ask because about half the time i start my car, I have to crank it for a little before it will start up, and sometimes it will start right up.

Thanks for any help.

yes... that is the driver's side o2 sensor. as far as making it hard to start, i don't believe it would (someone else may have better info there). it will, however cause your cats to go bad and you're engine performance to deteriorate.

What kind of O2 sensor is that? I have extra O2 sensors from a 99 Legacy(in fine condition). One has 3 wires, and the other has 4 wires from it. Would one of these be able to replace my old one?

First, I wouldn't overreact to one flash of that sensor error. You would want to inspect connections maybe. My opinion.
Yes, I believe you're correct as for the Q about it's location. As far as long start cycles, not too sure, but if this is the first time it's flashed, and you just had trans work, the wiring would be a good starting bet, again imo. Starting, hmmm? Plug/coil ?? Dirty TPS or intake tract? Weak battery??

I doubt its the battery, I could check though.
Its not the TPS of intake (cleaned IAV and TB). Well i didn't really do anything with the TPS (did take it off and look at it. Later found out taking it off was a real bad idea.)
Replaced the Plugs couple months ago, so its not that. Coil, maybe.

IF the O2 sensor from my old legacy would work, why not switch it out. I just need to know if it will work or not. Anyone know?
