tiny bulbs
For those of you out there the needs the part number for the tiny bulbs (yeah the ones with the condoms on top) the part number from radioshack is 272-1092C where C stands for clear. I am not sure if you can get it in any other colour.
These are the bulbs that make the panel "glow" at nights Lwin

tiny bulbs
thank you for the number. i am replacing a lot of those bulbs and the little alarm LED. but, what is the trick to getting the tiny bulb holder out? i have the nack for tacking out the switches, just worried about forcing the little holders.

Unplug the cluster and take it in the house. If you don't you will lose parts in the car like I did and have to get another cluster to replace missing parts
Take a medium sized flat blade and turn the bulb socket about a 1/4 turn CCW. Then tip the cluster over and tap it into your hand and the bulb & socket will fall into your hand. Then the physical bulb comes out like a miniture christmas light. Unloop the leads from the socket and pull the bulb out of the holder. As for the condoms, roll them off and roll them back on. The standard condom rule of roll on, slide off doesn't apply here. Doug

Two questions.
First off are the tiny bulbs really LED's and if not are the ones behing the temp buttons really two color lights in one meaning you run power thought it one way its green and the other way orange. or are there really two bulbs per button that have two types of color condoms on. Next where is the world can I find these condoms? I have looked at radio shack, and all the auto stores and nothing, any ideas. Thanks Chris |

They are not LEDs. They are call micro bulbs. The reason why you see 2 colours is because they have 2 of them in some cases. One for one colour and another with the green condom on. Orange/yellow is condomless.
As for the condoms, I have tried all places and no one seems to have them so go to a local hobby shop and tell them that you are painting them with a transparent colour and they will help you find the right paint. Lwin
