AC Tensioner pulley
Ok... I think I know my problem after going back out and listening to my car. It is making a whrr/wine sound then over 2000 rpms it sounds metallic like a bearing going bad. Initially I thought it was my alternator but it wasn’t… Sound like it is coming from under the AC compressor. AC works fine and sound does not change when I cut the AC on.
What is involved in replacing it? Does the bracket come off easily?

So far, I don't know of anyone who has done this. Usually we just replace the compressor. A few members are looking into the replacemet of the bearings so that we could just replace those. I have a few of them that I can do it with as well as one that is starting to go bad now.
 Good luck. If you need a replacement, post in the parts wanted forum. If you replase the bearings, please keep track of what you do and we can write it up and put it into the How-To docs so others will be able to do it. Thanks

Yeah, I think the compressor is fine - it sounds like it is coming from the pulley below the compressor. The part is around $44 new and there is a salvage car nearby that I might get one from.

I'm guessing part 73130A?
 I'm sure the bearing is available at a bearing shop if you have one near by, take the pulley in and see what they can do. To remove it loosen 73181B then 023808006(1). Once the belt is removed and you remove the nut, you can probably remove the idler wheel. If you can't get it out between the bracket and the timing covers, you'll have to loosen or remove the two bolts, 01050870A to move the bracket away.

I already have it out of the car, so will try to get the bearings out of the clutch and see what I can do.
