another one here to tell you yes, it sounds like a bad ulcer. That is the reason I have to be very carful of how much I take in a six month period!! I recently had a little scare myself, I nearly passed out! ...and I'm 23 . Jess donates as often as they'll let her, when I hear things like this it makes me extra proud of her.

I hope your father gets well soon man. Take care and good luck.

Hope he gets well soon... I know how completely unsettling that can be. Over the past 15 years, my father has averaged about two serious hospital visits a year. And it doesn't help that more than half the year he lives in Florida and is generally too stuborn to call and let us know. Evenyually his wife will defie his order and let us know. Once he called me and over the 5-10 minute conversation I overheard many hospital noises, but he never mentioned anything untill he was saying his goodbyes and I said, "Where are you, it sounds like a hospital or something."

Between his heart, lungs, diabetis, kidney failure and replaced hips and knees I've learned to treasure every chance I get to spend with him.

So anyway, I'll be thinking of you both.

Very nice! and 100% on the money. I used to call my Dad 4 or five times a week (we lived in different states). The day he died was a Saturday. I had just gone out to pick up the newspaper. I put it on the coffee table and went to call him. It was 7:39 AM. As I picked up the phone it rang. It was the coroner from my Dad's house.

I was a lucky one in that I stayed in contact. I still wish I could talk to him. At least he knew we loved him.

We all made a road trip out to see him about four months before he passed.

Thanks for the beautiful words Hocrest! Not that this post is about my Dad or anything it isn't. It just struck a harmonious chord is all.

Dad got home from the hospital yesterday. I talked to him last night and he sounded as good as new. He said once they got the bleeding to stop (internally) and transfused enough blood back into him where he could, you know, maintain consciousness that he was actually fine after that.

Apparently he felt fine right up until he got violently ill, then he felt fine again as soon as they stopped the bleeding. I'm happy about that! They kept him the extra few days because apparently 8% of people who get that procedure done start to bleed again in the next 72 hours, but he didn't.

He's on some pills now, and has meetings with a health and nutrition specialist and/or dietician guy, so I hope it never happens again.

Yay Dad! Thanks for your support, guys.

Edit: PS: He loves SVXs and was the reason I learned about them in the first place. He wants to buy a 93 AI someday. No worries, Randy I explained yours was not really for sale
