A/C on the Legacy
Well, yesterday the outside temperature reached an unexpected 84degF. So my wife turned the AC on in her Legacy. Surprise - no AC!
I checked it out at home. When the AC switch is turned on, both radiator fans turn on, but I don't think the AC compressor is running. I understand that there's usually a switch in the compressor that won't allow it to turn on if the refrigerant (r12 in this car) is low. Where is it, and would I be hurting anything by jumping the wires (momentarily) just to make sure the compressor runs? Thanks.

$750. New Condenser, drier, adjuster pulley and belt. Oh, and R12.
Argh. There go my plans to get the SVX on the road any time soon...
