replacing O2 sensors

Fellers,

I got our '92 SVX back from the dealer with the rough idle and bought 2 new O2 sensors. When the AC is on the idle is much rougher, does this tell me anything? The 2 existing O2 sensors look to be the original and may be difficult to get out. Does anyone have any advice on getting the old sensors out? Also i bought the sensors that i have to splice the connector onto. There are 2 white wires, does it matter which ones i match up? thanks for the advice.

Get some PBR blaster or other penetrating oil. Spray on a COLD engine. Let it oke a bit.
They do sell a special socket for the sensor ~$14. I unpluged the unit and slipped a box end wrench over the wire.
The Black wire is signal, the White wires are the heater wires. It does not matter which White wire goes to what.
I would encourage you to get a pack of heat shrink tube from Radio Shack (~$2)to put over the conections. It would be best if you soldering gun instead of the crimp on conections. In either event, putting the heat shink over the finished joint is a good idea.

AS for the idle- could be lots of things. See where changing the O2 sensors gets you first.
