smoke on start

My SVX smokes a little on cold starts(when it is cold out) and it has done it since I got it(last August). The smoke is a blueish gray color and smells a little like fuel and doesn't run smooth like it should. When it warms up or is started after being shut down for a couple of minutes it is fine. What would it be? Do I have an injector problem?

Significant Technical Input
Bluish smoke indicates oil being burned, white smoke would be a lot of unburnt fuel. Probably the reason you notice it after sitting a while is some of the oil is coming up past the rings and/or slipping past the valve guides. The longer it sits the longer it has to travel. Also the colder it is the smaller the parts are and easier for oil to slip past. Check the oil level and make sure it isn't overfull. Check the air filter box for oil, some cars will load it up when the PCV system clogs. Post a note in Chris' box, there may be a Subie thing that happens and he'd have more experience with that than I.
