School and I have always had a love-hate relationship: I need the degree to get the well paying job - but it's so boring to spend several years going to class and taking exam after exam!!!

Yeah. I am studying mechanical right now and you're going to be broken and torn. I've been ripped to shreds and put back together with scotch tape (simple classes like history and speech).

In my line of work a degree is nearly irrelevant. Of course, we pay for it with craploads of unpaid overtime. Doh!

lol.
That is why I love going to a co-op school. I go to school for 11 weeks (1 semester) and by that time I am pretty sick of it, then I go to work for 11 weeks. I get sick of work too, so its back to school. Also nice to have some money during school.

This is exactly how I feel... I just don't see making less than 75k a year an option for me... I have to get a drgree and I'll do anything to get it... Even if I hate doing it...

Well, they'll say to you that you're doing the wrong thing. But, money is good. Otherwise, how else am I going to woo my girl Angelina and start a Ferrari collection?

Is that $ or £

If only $75k, you are not very ambitious

I think it depends on whether you measure ambition by salary goals. I know plenty of people who want to make over $100k but haven't a clue how they would achieve it. I don't think that makes them any more ambitious than Chris who wants $75k, but seems to have some sort of plan.

I don't make $75k a year yet, but I do have a job that's difficult to get and very rewarding. It took plently of ambition (amongst other things) to get it.

I think the only way to get the money is to focus on things besides the money.

Give me half a chance and I'll convince you otherwise.

Good luck obtaining that $75K/year job right out of school Chris. I think it'll probably take you a few years after graduation to get there.
