Rims - Newbie Question

What is the deal with the direction of the Rims on this car. I just picked up an SVX a few days ago and was already told by a complete stranger that my Rims were on backwards. What is the correct direction of the spokes and why does it matter. Is it just cosmetic or does it cool the brakes?

Welcome to the forums! You can learn a whole lot here by reading current threads and checking out old ones using the Search function Enjoy!

The wheels should point forwards, like this:

I haven't had mine off, personally, but I hear there's an L or an R on the inside of the wheel to tell you what side of the car that they should go on.

The left sides have "L" stamped onto the rims near the valve stems.

WOW, nice house! It looks like you bought that big brick one on Albert Street.

Hi Sean, The wheels are cosmetic. There are some that say that it is to scoop up the air and cool the brakes. Unfortunatly centrufigal force does not work that way, the air comes from the center to the outside. So they would do the same, no matter which way they are fitted.

Harvey.
