Guide pins?
I completed going through my engine and replacing seals, pumps, etc. and was getting ready to mount my adapter plate (for my Porsche 914 tranny) and flywheel when I finally noticed that there are no guide pins on my engine case. Shouldn't the middle two holes in the rear of the case have some sort of pin to line up with the tranny properly? The upper two and lower two I realize are for the bolts to physically connect with the tranny, but my middle two holes are empty. Any ideas? Thanks

You're right, there are pins used in the engine/trans mounting...but I can't remember which one has the pins in it..the engine or the trans. Sometimes they will stick and you'll get one in each.

OK, does anybody know where I might find a couple of those? I want to make sure my adapter plate lines up perfectly with the engine case. I guess in a worst-case scenario I'll look for some dowels at the hardware store that fit snugly in there.
