Well here I am! I missed you guys, thanks for all the letters and everything, definitley appreciated them. Boot camp was... well boot camp, I did pretty well, I'm stationed in Cape May, NJ on the CGC Vigorous. It's actually right across from the training center.

I was actually one of the younger people in my company. Our oldest was 30 I think, he was older than one of my company commanders. I actually am going to have some pictures soon from the last few days, I went 007 style and got a disposable camera.

The best part of coming home though, was going to my dad's to pick up my car...and he had it professionally detailed...I took a pic of that too, so when I finish the camera I'll post it up. Anyway I'll cut this short, it's good to be back behind the wheel!!!!

That was my first unit out of bot camp. Are you there now? If you are, we'll have to get together this week. I'll be back in Cape May Sunday afternoon.

Welcome back. I haven't forgotten. A sticker's coming your way as soon as I can find them. I know I have one in ONE of my SVXes. Just can't remember which one.

Mike, I'm home on leave until May 12th, that's when I report. The Vig is underway right now, so most likely I'll fly to it wherever it is, if not I'll be in Cape May for awhile. If I don't fly out right away, like if I have a few days, I'll give you a call. My SVX is coming with me

Was the Vigorous your first unit too? Or were you at the station?

I DEFINITELY made the right decision. Oh yeah Mike, when we had our off base liberty...me and 2 other guys got flashed! Must be the uniform. Another woman came up to me and said thanks for what you have done and patted my shoulder. It felt good.

I was in Whiskey Company 167, I have some pictures in my locker in the "Other" folder, they're taken on the last day, which was this past Thurs.

R-Dub....I'll be checking my mail! I have a USCG sticker on my rear window now

I was on the Vig in '95. I was only there for about 7 months before I went to A-school.

Since the Vig was in port while I was in boot camp, I got the chance to take two tours of it before I graduated. It was good to get aquainted before I actually report on board. They even let us eat chow on it. Pretty cool stuff.

As far as boot camp, it was tough, moreso because of the mental part. Pretty stressful for the first 3 or 4 weeks. After that it was more fun because we started to all work together as a company instead of individuals.

Sorry... I actually started a letter last week but thought that ya'd be out by now anyway so I didn't send it... Well How'd ya do in traning??

Training was tough, more mental than physical. I kept my mouth shut for the most part and laid low. I don't think they knew my name until around week 5. I qualified as a marksman at the range, we did alot of pushups.........it's weird now looking back, I can't remember alot of the bad parts, only the good times with all the people I met. I gained 8 lbs of muscle.....somewhere lol, looking back on it now it was a very positive experience. We even had the chance to make fun of some Marines while singing cadence
