Thumbs up Transfer clutch issues

I started a thread in the garage awhile ago about some noises from the transmission/differential when going thru tight radius turns. I could FEEL a thunk! Eddy diagnosed it as transfer clutch problems. The last transmission was installed 6/99 at 104K miles (with a two year, 24K warranty, D-OOHH). Hodges Subaru diagnosed the noise as the transfer clutches and quoted me $982 to replace/repair. I was dissatisfied with the cost and reminded the service writer about the noises which they had dismissed during an earlier "in-warranty" visit as within specs. He recommended I call the SOA Customer Service number for their thoughts. I strapped on the body armor and sharpened the sword, getting ready for the battle. Daisy answered my call, noted the details and less then 20 minutes after my call, I was informed that they would stand behind the warranty and fix the car at their expense.

I just wanted to post my positive experience.

That's outstanding. i am a firm believer in how you speak and who is on the other end of the phone. I know people who would have blown up and been irate with a customer service rep. And got nothing. Just even more pissed off.

Good job.
