is it a transmission problem? (that ='s bad lolz) |

Re: revs drop when speeding up
It's your torque converter locking up...
Your transmission is fine, have a nice day. |

Re: revs drop when speeding up
No fix needed, normal operation of an automatic transmission with lockup torque converter.

Re: revs drop when speeding up

Re: revs drop when speeding up
The shifts being harder could be related to the TPS, or possibly other issues. Do you happen to have a check engine light on ever, or otherwise the "power light" flashing at startup?

Re: revs drop when speeding up
yes, the check engine light comes on sometimes but its more of just a flash and then off... no power light blinking tho
what is TPS? |

Re: revs drop when speeding up
Check the codes for the engine first following the instructions in the how-to section of the forum and find out what the code is. It should show a stored code even if it just flashes and shuts back off.
TPS= throttle position sensor and if it is not reading right for a couple of reasons, will affect the way the transmission shifts. It also does not always throw a code. |

Re: revs drop when speeding up
so how expensive and hard of a fix would that be?
because some shifts are hard and some you you don't even relized you just shifted lol... but anyways my svx is a FWD does that mean every svx drops the revs like that when speeding up? edit: what code how to am i looking for ? TCU? (maybe a link ) Last edited by Red94Svx; 02-25-2011 at 01:57 AM. |
