Smile 8000 mile tour of USA completed - tranny stays together.

Retirement means time is irrelevant, so I took a 3 week jaunt from the east coast up to the Pacific Northwest, down the left coast, then through the Southwest, being chased by Ike as I raced through the South, than back home.
SVXes sighted - 14 - all of which were housed on one property in Burlington, WA. This is the short version. It's a BIG country. Actually the SVX stayed home, as I risked this trip in a '96 Dodge Caravan, now with 216K on the clock, also known for frequent slushbox meltdown. No mechanical problems encountered whatsoever. Total gas expense - $1,468.07. Coolest sight - the Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo, SD. 225 antique vehicles including one of the General Lee-mobiles, & a Subaru 360. Life is good.

Ron.
