i've never seen this harness, but you ussually splice the wires coming out of it to the wires on the harness that came with your radio. so when you are done one end plugs into the radio, and one end into the SVX harness. It may not be pluging in due to a bent pin. Or maybe it is just a bad item not to insult svxdc or anything cause I really have not even seen one.

Splice and tape/use butt connectors... whatever you want to them. The wires should be labeled or come with a key to tell you what each wire is for. just match the description up with what ever the wires are labeled on the harness that came with your radio. When ever you see "memory" that is ussually the 12v the is always hot... the "power" is the one that is "switched" or "ignition" if that helps with any confusion there too. I am assuming this is your first install is all.

Make sure all the pins are lined up.

You should solder & tape all the connections to the harness that comes with the radio.

Guys, this radio is so tight that it morphs the cage and the holes do not line up- I'm thinking I wont even screw it in it is so tight. What do you guys think? How do I insulate the top din?

Nevermind, the button wasn't pushed in. My new deck has new wires coming out of it and only one antenna wire, where do I plug these new wires? Alpine 9856

subaru actually has a few pieces that could go there to fill the din. I can't remember where to get one, but there is a plastic piece that that says subaru on it that will screw into the cage. in any of the big audio sites you should be able to find other "blanks" and cd organizers that could fill the spot. I originally cut a piece of aluminum and mounted it in the spot, but that requires some fabing ability.

I don't have any idea what button/tightness you are refering too (cage cover maybe), but I guess it is no longer a problem. I would love to go into splicing techniques, but I am off for a "photo shoot". If you must do it now... Simply cross the wires to be joined to form an X. be sure the copper wires touch just beyond the insulation with both pointing up. Twist the two ends over eachother and keep twisting until you run out. This is a basic splice. If you have done it correctly the wires shouldn't form an angle, they should be nearly seemless with the exception of the bump of exposed twisted copper and shouldn't "unwind" with a light tug, cover with electrical tape. It can be explained better, and there are other splices... but i'm in a rush.

I appreciate the feedback you guys. NOw MY CAR WILL NOT START. Must the Stereo be plugged in in order for the car to start? This is weird. It fires up for a half a second and then shuts off. HOw could the battery be dead after all of this?
