Re: how to change ignition light colors

working on these since I am irritated as hell with the viper and I might as well do something with the torn apart car while I think and take a break from the frustrating alarm system.

I installed the blue led version of the 158's for the gauges still waiting on the 74's to do the rest of the temp and open door etc.

I also replaced the 158's in the door that light up when the door is open, they are blue now.

I'm a little confused on which bulb areas you had to drill out marisa? can expand on which ones in particular? is it all the brass colored ones on the one side only? or did you do all of them.

Anyone know what size to use for the hvac?

Well, ever since I've done this the lights on the accessory panels do not work anymore. I'm not sure if somewhere along the lines I've shorted something out or what but the activated lights still work (like when I push Cruise or for the Fog lamps) but the lighting to illuminate the panels themselves are no more.

I'm hoping I didn't damage something but not sure how to tackle or get to it since they are such a tight fit anyways. Where do the wires run? Any suggestions? Ideas?

Re: how to change ignition light colors

I'll say it again, if you want clear needles just remove the orange/red paint from the back of them.

Re: how to change ignition light colors

wtf.....................Spamtacular.

I dunno if you guys noticed a post I did a while back about doing completely new gauges with adjustable color... we won't have to have any more crazy DIY attempts that don't look as professional as we'd like them to... All I need are 5-9 people to come to a compromise on what they'd want in the gauges and I could have them done in a few weeks. sweeping gauges needles that light to a choice of color led back lit (choice color) and even manual set for those of us who no longer have an auto trans.

This is something I'm not going to have to play games with a manufacturer about like with the CAI's, for those of you who are worried that this would take forever. The company that would be making them is US Speedo link It would be a complete replacement cluster, so no toying with pulling off your needles and not having them go back on correctly. Just pull out the gauge cluster and replace. If anyone is interested in this let me know. I'm not posting this to draw the trolls or thread jack just merely offering up another option for changing our interior colors.

Also I just need people to commit to purchase by signing a purchase order, but the funds would not be collected until the product is complete to avoid conflict with people claiming that I ran away with their money. This would be merely a way to push the process they will be produced in time with or without initial group buy in but it would be an opportunity to save money on the gauges by getting them at a discounted rate.

Re: how to change ignition light colors

Is it terrible that re-reading this thread, I annoyed myself?
Why didn't I update with bulb sizes... ugh! I changed my gauge cluster with different types of red led bulbs and at one time took comparison shots.. that I clearly never posted... Now I need to know as its been so long and I think some bulbs went out.
So I hop over to this thread thinking I'd remind myself only to find that I failed myself. My memory sucks sometimes... all the time.
