I am tempted to pick it up and swap it over to a turbo 4 cylinder and a manual transmission, but I just have to many other projects right now. If you look at his Vanagon page you can see that the dash is pulled out of the car.

I don't see why the Vanagon freaks insist on using our motor out of our rare cars, when EJ20G (twin turbo) engines are all over ebay for ~$900 or so with wiring and computer. Grr, damn hippies...
