Question about the site

I really like how the open envelopes close after I read the thread. After my last trip out of town, all the envelopes were closed when I got home, however I hadn't read the threads. Tonight, I had to go into each thread twice to get the envelopes to close. Just wondering if I am alone in this experience. It's nowhere near as bad as the Message 40 glitch, but ....

What's probably happening is that the page isn't refreshing after you read the thread (when you go back to the main list of messages). Internet Explorer seems to have some interesting policies about when it refreshes pages and when it doesnt. Next time you go into a thread and come back out, try hitting refresh and I think you'll have closed envelopes. I could change the page to force it to refresh each time you load it, but that would make it slower to browse the forums.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't have had "open" envelopes - how long did you go without reading the forums? Perhaps the forum software eventually decides that you've been gone long enough to warrant starting fresh. I'll play around and see what I can come up with.

I only mention it because usually the envelopes close when I go back to the forum list and reenter a forum. It was about 2 weeks on the other question. I was just curious, I don't want to make work to fix something that isn't broke, Thanks for checking though.

try this out:
Go to the IE options and click on the Temp. Internet Files-- and click on the radio button that says reload the page every time.
