Air Pocket in Coolant??
My SVX is overheating and all new parts??? Radiator, pump, thermostat (thot might be sticking)
 Wondering what the air pocket is I've heard about.. Could this be it?  Thanks, JIm

I've heared that jacking it up on the drivers side can help get air bubbles out. Not sure how well it works tho

you can get an air pocket under the thermostat that will keep it from opening. when i fill subarus i jack up the front end so the radiator is the highest point, install a funnel that fits snugly in the radiator, and let it run until warm while maintaining a level of coolant in the funnel. shut it off and let it cool down and then it will be full and without air pockets. did the new thermostat have a jiggle valve? a good thermostat usually has one and lets the air pocket out from underneath it.

have you checked to make sure your fans were coming on? my svx nearly over heated cause the fan relay died, radiator was still properly bled and everything.

Thanks guys..
Really like the SVXCess funnel kit video .. shudda got one .. after doing it! .. I jacked up front.. few bubbles came out.. a few ounces low of coolant.. Seems to work. Crazy that would make the difference?? I did have a few bubbles going into coolant reservoir when shutting off hot engine?? I don't know if the slow leak from the thermostat housing (wrong rubber gasket!) CAUSED more air up top?? Thanks, Jim
