The contract for next year's Reading Meet has been signed. The manager got the group code "SVX" into the system and I reserved my room to make sure the system was set up properly.

The contract is currently for eight rooms for Thursday April 18, and twenty rooms for Friday and Saturday April 19, 20. All activities will be planned for the weekend, but we added Thursday to the block in case anyone wanted to arrive early.

The room rate is $87.00 night, plus tax. This is a small increase over last year ($2). The hotel is scheduled to have their renovations completed over the winter, so we will have all "new" rooms.

There are 2 queens (smoking and NS) and King Executive (NS) available. The block and pricing will be held through March 5, 2013.

For those that plan on attending PLEASE make your reservations early. As in past years, your CC is not charged until that weekend. Also, you can cancel your reservation at anytime up to 6:00 pm on the first day of your reservation with NO PENALTY. Also, there is a selection during the online process to make your reservation without a credit card. The one restriction with this method is that if you don't arrive by 6:00 pm, you may lose your room.

Booking the rooms this far in advance can help us in a few ways. If we fill the 20 rooms in a few months, I know we can get more added for those that procrastinate. Also a stronger showing will give us some power at negotiating future contracts.

If you prefer, you can call for your reservation at 610-286-3000. Make sure you still use the "SVX" group code to get the group rate.

Thanks, so that confirms that you don't even need a credit card to reserve your room.

SO RESERVE YOUR ROOM NOW!!!

If you don't use a CC to reserve your do need to arrive by a certain time that day or you may lose your room.

The block closes in a couple of weeks, after that you may not get a room, or you may end up paying more. Every year there are people who wait until the last minute and regret it. Don't be that person. Reserve now.

You can reserve your room without using a credit card. There is no reason not to reserve if there is a chance that you plan on attending the meet.
