Rear Bumper Cover

Well I thought I would ask if anyone had a rear bumper cover in Liquid Silver? I could pick it up at Reading or will travel within reason to pick it up.

Re: Rear Bumper Cover

I have a black one that was originally white. It's in decent shape, but will need a paint job. You can have it for $25, maybe someone can pick it up and bring it to the meet for you.

Re: Rear Bumper Cover

Sean, Check out www.car-part.com There are some silvers on there. Shipping would be around a hundred or so (less if you can talk them into shipping greyhound), Painting a bumper you're looking at 150-500 depending on the number of coats, etc. From the looks of the dent it doesn't appear to have any crimps so you might get away with a paintless dent removal ($100 or so plus I would let the guy doing it know when he shows up that you have a $50 for him if he does his best to get it out). If not it looks like it could be pulled, filled and airbrushed. Not ideal but better than a bandaid.

Re: Rear Bumper Cover

Ben, I'll probably stop in to see your guy sometime this week and talk it over. It was pointed out to me by my claims person that I didn't have comprehensive, so I am on my own. Another reason to kick myself

BTW I couldn't seem to make that part site find any matches.

Remember, he's looking for a plug and play set up, not one which will needed preped and painted. Subaru didn't even have a factory painted mirror for our 03 Legacy by the time the 2nd one had faded in 04 so I'm quite certain they won't have any liquid silver bumper covers still in stock.

Re: Rear Bumper Cover

One already silver would be best. If that is too hard to find may pick up a used one in a different color and have it painted.

Re: Rear Bumper Cover

It was peviously painted, it looks like primer. I bought it as a back up. Ask a local paint shop how much it will cost to paint, tell them it's already off the car.

I may take you up on that Dave. I should be talking to the body shop soon and I will have a better idea of which way to go.

I've been itching for a day off and a trip to Harry's and EZ Pull so if it ever stops raining long enough to dry out and you wanted Davie's bumper I could probably even have it delivered to my parents house (5 minutes from ya).
