Tires totally worn by 6035 miles

I just took my car in for inspection today and much to my dismay it failed, due to front tire wear. And I don't think I had a leg to stand on when it came to argueing considered inside corner of the front right was worn to the point of showing its threads.

I have driven with these set of tires for 6,035 miles. These are BFGoodrich Traction T/A Vs, which I would think they would not wear down that fast unless my tires are severly unaligned. I do think the are unaligned due to ever so slightly drift to the right whenever I am not grasping the wheel to keep it straight, but could that be a sign of severity?

So now, I now can only be able to drive the SVX around for legally another 48 hours until I replace the tires. And the place I had them installed at, ETD Discount Tire Center, are trying to re-kneg their 8,000 mile warranty due to attributing it to being unallinged as well as if I got into any accident which I did, but that was at relatively low speed with just the door and no frame damage.

My question is even if they are ever so slightly, can they really get worn in a little over 6k miles. I don't floor it where ever I go due to fuel efficiency and neither take it to the track on the weekends. Is it possible that I have defective tires? I need to find out soon because I'm going to battle with ETD tomorrow at 1pm latest.

You might be able to get a warranty claim out of it. The amount of "pull" you're experiencing does not necessarily show you how bad your alignment is. If both wheels are towed in or out equally you might not feel anything unusual, but the tires will still be wearing out fast.

I'd say get it on an alignement rack as soon as you can. It's good routine maintenance once every year or two, and any time the suspension is apart.

A new tire wearing to the cord in 6000 miles, under typical conditions, indicates an EXTREME suspension/alignment problem. Here's a second to the recommendation that you get that thing checked-out and aligned ASAP.

I've been running worn-out Kuhmo tires that came on my silver SVX for that long, and I push it a tad on curvy roads 2-3 times a week, and they look no worse now than a year ago. But one of the first things I did with that car was have a 4-wheel alignment performed.

Are both tires worn the same? This would indicate an alignment issue

Is one side worn more than the other? This would indicate some sort of damage. I had a bent control arm that didn't exhibit any pulling symptoms. Until I changed it & laid it side by side with a good arm I'd have been hard pressed to know it was bent. Thankfully an honest seller told me about it.

Thanks all, this is great info to know. I took it to the shop and it turns out it was pretty severe misalignment, wheels were facing a little over a degree inward on one side. Anyway they are suggesting moving the not so worn out rear wheels to the front and putting new ones behind. Is this a good idea, even if the right wheel alignment is slightly castes?

Only if it's FWD. If it's AWD, the tires must be the same make, brand, and size, and within 1/32 tread depth of the other two. In other words, you have to find two BFGoodrich Traction T/A Vs that are the same tread pattern as the existing tires, and are within 1/32" of the same tread depth, otherwise you must replace all four tires or you run the risk of damaging the transfer clutch.

I agree. All new ones for AWD or put in the FWD fuse.

All good comments here which I must agree with. The only other possible problem that I can think of is if you have issues with you transfer case and your rear wheels are rotating either faster or slower than the front....it happened to a friend of mine. Good luck though...also what is the speed rating of your current tires? Not sure if this could be a cause, but it is something to look into.
