Installed Tranny Cooler

Just finished installing an external transmission cooler. I placed it in series before the external filter. Between the evaporator and the radiator.

A few things I learned:
1.) It would have been easier to take out the radiator and mount it while it was sitting on my bench. My hands are cut up real nice cause I just unbolted the top and finagled it in there.
2.) If you are pushing those rubber cooler hoses onto the transmission lines leaving the transmission be VERY careful not to bend them. I pushed on mine a little to hard and manged to bend it a few degrees. I bent it back, and there was no kinks. I just hope it's ok. A block of wood or plastic would have been good to brace it while I pushed the hose on.
3.)I'm not real happy cause the bolts holding up the passenger side of the evaporator are brushing the top hose coming out of the cooler. I want find something to wrap the hose in to keep it from wearing through. Or, I'll just take out the radiator and move it.
4.) It was pretty much impossible not to bend the cooling fins.

For those that have done this before does this seem ok?
I was worried it was a little to high etc..

Here are some pictures:

Do you have a temperature gauge? If so, what were the temps and what are they now. That will tell you if it is doing what you want it to.

I would have had the fluid go througth the filter before the cooler. That way it will not deposit anything in the cooler so that it become less efficient. Just a thought.

I bought the one sized up - for trucks etc.. so the cooler itself is pretty big. I imagine it's doing a good job. My TC took a lot longer to lock up then usual, but it still locked.

I want to re-do the top hose this weekend, so I may take up your suggestions and run it after the filter. Makes sense. Perhaps I'll replace the filter to.

We'll consider this the practice run. :-)
