hood doesnt close

I was in a low speed fender bender, and my hood was popped out of it lock.

Now it doesnt close properly, and I cant figure out why?

The hood doesnt look bent, and the hood latch does lock.
but when i shut the hood, the driver side is lifted up compared to the other side, and it wont go down

any ideas, suggestions?

Significant Technical Input
Swing by a body shop, they'll be more than happy to show you why - and give you a free estimate.

it will be alright.......

just take it by the shop and let them take a look. perhaps it will not be that bad.......those are always the famous last words before you get the big bill!

maybe the hood just needs to be straightened. good luck.

You could try turning the little rubber bumpers near the front of it, and do some slight adjustment that way. If its more than say 1/4-1/2 inch off (i'm not sure how far those can aadjust it), then there's something bent up somewhere.

hope that helps a little anyway.

Time to hit a little body shop in Little Saigon/Westminster. At least they'll give you a decent price, quality's usually good too, unless you're EXTREMELY anal and would complain about being less than a millimeter off.

No specific shop, but I like Vietnamese shops for their price, and they generally do a job pretty well. I don't know any Vietnamese shops here, but in Sacramento, I had a Vietnamese shop paint my car. Gave me a great price and did a great job. Overall, I've had good experiences with them, and so have my friends. Just check out the Westminster area, near Bolsa and Magnolia, and you should finf plenty of shops there.

I thought duct tape (the ones from 3M -- airplane quality) fix all things in life..

Good luck with the hood
